Christian Athletes

Throughout history there have been many great Christian athletes that have performed great in the sports in which they played. Having faith in God can get you through a lot of the trials that you will have to endure when training for the sport that you love. Knowing that there are some famous athlete out there that are Christians could potentially help you in your training. Here are a few of the most famous Christian athletes in the world.

Aaron Rodgers

Many people may not realize that the Super Bowl winner and MVP Aaron Rodgers is a Christian. I didn't know it until someone from his hometown took the initiative to write me and let me know. Then I started looking around and saw several interviews and resources with Aaron talking about his faith.

I always like Aaron as a football player and even had him on my fantasy team a few times (Praise the Lord). Basically, the guy is a player (as if the Super Bowl MVP didn't tell you that). I was pretty excited to find someone in such a prominent position who loves Jesus. So support the Packers, even if they're not your favorite team, and support Aaron while he's in the league.

One of the best ways to support Aaron is to make his jersey the #1 selling jersey in the NFL. Search for "Aaron Rodgers jersey" and you'll see a few different options to pick from. _____________________________________

Kurt Warner

How could you do a list like this and not include Kurt Warner? He is one of the greatest if not THE greatest Christian athletes of all time. He managed to win the NFL MVP award two times. He has been to the Super Bowl three times. If you look in the Super Bowl record books, you will see that he has the three largest games by any quarterback as far as passing yards go. He is a fantastic guy and he never hesitates to share his faith in God with others. This world would be a much better place if there were more people that tried to be like Kurt Warner.

Dikembe Mutombo

Dikembe Mutombo is a famous basketball player that played in the NBA for many years. He was one of the tallest players on the court regardless of what team he was playing against. He also patented his famous finger-shaking move whenever he would block a shot. Unfortunately, it came back to bite him whenever the much smaller Michael Jordan dunked over his head.

Dave Dravecky

Dave Dravecky was a famous pitcher in the major leagues that ended up losing part of his shoulder to cancer. After trusting in God and fighting the cancer, he eventually came back and pitched in the major leagues again. Today he travels around the country and shares his story and testimony with large groups of people.

George Foreman

Despite what many young people today might believe, George Foreman actually did something before he created his famous grill. George Foreman was one of the best boxers of all time. He is also known for naming all of his many children George. He is also a devout Christian and actually is a pastor of a church in Houston, Texas.

Deion Sanders

Even though Deion Sanders was not always a Christian, he says that he is one today. He is one of the most outspoken television personalities on the NFL network now. However, he once was one of the fastest and most talented football players in the world. On top of that, he also played professional baseball for the Cincinnati Reds. Some people just get all of the physical talent.
