Christian Movies - National Treasure 2

In this edition of Christian movies we'll take a look at one of the biggest sequels of the year - National Treasure: Book of Secrets.

Is it a Christian movie? No. Is it a clean movie? Yes. All you have to do is see the name Disney behind it and you pretty much know its going to be ok to watch. Although it does have a little more action than Sleeping Beauty or Snow White.

For those of you who saw the first National Treasure, you're looking at a very similar movie here. Therefore, if you liked the first one, you'll probably like this one. Is it better than the first? Not especially. It's different, but I wouldn't say better.

The basic plot revolves around the central character Benjamin Gates. At the beginning of the movie a history buff brings an accusation that Gates' grandfather was responsible for Lincoln's assassination. Gates believes this to be a lie, but for the time being his name is mud again (we even learn the origin of this expression in the movie).

The rest of the movie is about Gates trying to vindicate his family name. Finding the infamous Book of Secrets is essential to getting the evidence he needs. The only problem with that is that only U.S. Presidents have ever laid eyes on it.

The gang travels to some pretty famous locations including: Mt. Rushmore, The Oval Office, and Buckingham Palace. They all have significance in the story and add a nice touch.

Overall, this is another great movie in the vein of the first one. Most people who've seen it liked it. Its a good way to spend 2.5 hours. Definitely check it out a.s.a.p.
