Jesus, the Most Valuable Treasure
by Kumalawaty Sundari
“but lay up yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal.” (Matt 6:19)
DELF exam (French diploma) is something that is very challenging. I wanted to take it because the certificate will be valid for the whole life. There is a feeling of proud when I succeeded in one level. However, I realize that there is something more important than those certificates: my knowledge of Jesus Christ who has been crucified for my sins. When we accept Jesus as our Savior, we get the eternal life. The light that is in our heart reflects how happy we are when we walk in the Lord.
If I fail at DELF exam, I will be very dissapointed. The same thing like today, we will lose heavenly peace when our mind focuses only on wordly treasures. However, thanks to God’s grace, Jesus will never dissapoint us when we come to Him for He is the sinners’ friend (Mark 2:17). Our conduct should be built on God’s Word; though the world is full of worries and fear, we should keep firm in our faith to Jesus. In Jesus hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge (Col 2:3). Therefore, we should separate ourselves from the world and follow Him till the end. The unseen things above should attract our heart to grow more in His love and His fullness.
I was rather dissapointed when the result of DELF exam was not too satisfied. However, Jesus is the living water than can satisfy all our needs (John 4:14). May we are more aware of our salvation of our soul so that Jesus’ blood for us will not be in vain.
