The Science of Getting Rich

The Science of Getting Rich is considered by many to be a masterpiece.

However, some people believe it to be insane. Which is the truth? I am not an expert in the field, but I've read the book extensively. I've dissected it and used my intellect to come up with my beliefs on it.

While the Science of Getting Rich (SGR) uses a lot of strange terms like "formless substance" the basic idea is simple. At first glance it may seem like some sort new age Eastern religion. However it is nothing of the kind.

It doesn't take long to see all of the Biblical references that Wallace Wattles uses in his book. He speaks about the parable of the talents - you're either going forward or backward. He speaks of how insistent Jesus was on the power of belief. The Biblical references could go on and on. While the book is focused on the area of acquiring wealth, it's teachings can be used in every area of life.

The basic outline of the book is quite simple. First you must ask God for what you desire by getting a clear mental picture of it. You hold the idea in your mind as much as possible. You then be grateful for everything you have and thank God for the good that is coming. You then take inspired action wherever you are. In this way, the thing you want will come to you.

Does this sound any different than what we've been taught in the Bible? Didn't Jesus himself say that if you have faith as small as a mustard seed that you can tell a mountain to jump in the ocean and it will do it? Of course he did. Do you think he was lying? Not in the least.

The key ingredients in the SGR are gratitude and faith. They go hand in hand. Every time you thank God for what he's given you, you are automatically increasing your faith in Him. How could you possibly talk to God without believing in Him? You wouldn't. Therefore, if you keep an open mind, SGR can be a tool that can change your life for the better. Check it out the first chance you get.
